More excitement!

Oh my gosh. As if things weren't exciting enough getting into Disney, I just got a call from my best friend and she got accepted too. So we're both going to be working at Disneyland together. Unfortunately she's not working in Custodial like me she's a concession stand hostess. But I'm still so happy for her! I'm hoping that we can room together. I already did my official registration but she hasn't yet so she's going to request me as her roommate.
This is quite possibly the most awesome thing thats happened to either of us and we're both super excited. We talked for what must have been about two hours on the phone.
In other news, there actually was some Disney related stuff at the Oscars. Disneys Toy Story 3 won Best Animated Feature and best song. Tangled was also nominated in the Best Song category too and really, I'm surprised it didn't win. Oh well.
Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi the stars of Tangled also performed "I See the Light" together too which was awesome.
Enough about that though. I'm so totally, happy because my friend and I are going to be working at Disneyland. Anyone else in the program with a friend too?

Its official!

I officially accepted my place today with the college program. My parents helped pay the program fees with the promise that I'll pay them back when I've got the money. Hopefully I'll find a job before I go so I can do that and then save up some extra cash just in case something happens while I'm down there. I'm lucky because I actually have family and friends nearby that live in California so if something goes wrong I can always go to one of them if I absolutely have to. Still I think its best to have money saved up just in case. I already have some but extra cash is always good.
I'm so excited and I can't stop talking about it. Although fortunately for me I do have something else to take my mind off of it at least for today which is The Academy Awards/Oscars. A lot of my favorite actors are nominated, including Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter which is absolutely amazing because I've been big fans of theirs for years. I'm hoping they'll both win or at the very least that Colin Firth will because he totally deserves it.
Okay, I'm done not talking about Disney related stuff. Actually I'm just done talking in general. I'll post again when I actually have something to write about...or perhaps I'll just do an Oscar related blog for the fun of it while I wait for that infamous purple folder to come in the mail.

Oh dear, not another one

I know what your thinking...here we go again, another blog about the Disney College Program. Except this one is going to be a little different. Why is it going to be different you ask? Because this blog will not be about the Walt Disney World College Program that everyone knows and loves. This blog will be about the lesser known, but still pretty darn fun, Disneyland College Program. You know the one that's over at the OTHER park otherwise known as the one that started it all that's in a place called Anaheim, California.
If you want to get technical about when my program with Disney started it was actually a while ago. I applied last year but I didn't find out I was in until last august when I had already registered for school and so I wasn't able to go. This time around things went differently.
I had my interview on January 28th, 2011. Funnily enough the woman that interviewed me was the same woman who interviewed me before. She recognized my name (Cambria isn't one you hear often) and the stuff on my application which was a bit odd for a 20 something college student. I've worked and volunteered at two historical museums as a tour guide which I had put on my application and she was extremely interested in that so we talked about my work there a lot because my job required a) interaction with guests and b) dressing up in costume.
We then went over the different jobs I'd listed and she explained a little bit about each one, then asked me questions about things that might happen on the job and if I'd be comfortable cleaning (because I put custodial as one of my picks). All stuff you've probably heard before if you've read the other blogs like I did.
Then she went over some more program stuff and that was it. It was pretty painless.
I then had a long, torturous four weeks of waiting to find out if I was in the program. I'm not going to lie. I went mad as a hatter for a little bit. I did everything from make Disney fanart to keep myself entertained to watch any Disney video I could find online including of the parades and things. As a bonus though, I did find some pretty cool websites like doombuggies.com which is a website dedicated to one of my favorite attractions the haunted mansion. I also had a couple sleepless nights thinking that I wasn't going to get in.
Then yesterday while still in my Disney Obsession mode and drawing fanart (*cough*badly*cough) my cell phone starts playing "Come as you are" by Nirvana because its my ringtone and answered it thinking it was probably my Mom or a wrong number or something. Only it wasn't my Mom or a wrong number. Nope, it was the Disney College Program calling to tell me I was accepted. I had to contain my urge to scream into to the phone. Only after the guy was done telling me I was in and that my job was custodial and I hung up did I allow myself to scream.
After I called everyone I knew and after about an hour of not having anyone answer, I finally got hold of my Mom and then eventually my best friend and there was lots of excited screaming over the phone. So yes, I'm in the DisneyLAND College Program. Yes, I will be detailing my adventures here in this blog....to the five people that will probably read it.
